OUR STORY
Indianhead Holsteins was founded in 1981. Bob & Karyn Schauf purchased Karyn's grandparent's "Clinton Stock Farm" in northwest Wisconsin upon the death of Karyn's grandfather, Carl Nelson. They reduced their existing "Alpine Haven" herd and moved the nucleus of their new start 200+ miles north where they built a facility to showcase their dream herd.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
A constant that carried over was Bob's belief in the importance of cow families. Always watching for that special individual that combines production, type and longevity with the ability to transmit those qualities consistently, Indianhead Holsteins is Founded On Great Families.

A NEW CHALLENGE
May 11, 2002 we sold 100 head from our Indianhead herd featuring the bulk of our milking herd and 20 select heifers representing our best cow families. Resulting in one of the top sales in the nation, its success reinforced to many that our industry still puts a high value on great type backed by powerful cow families.
Following the sale, we enjoyed but a brief break as the barn quickly filled with many fresh heifers. Expanding on our cow family philosophy, we have added to this fine nucleus a few exciting individuals from other key families. You'll find recent additions' family roots springing from Ashlyn, Elegance, Lead May, Laurie Shiek, Pinehurst Royal Rosa, and many other successful individuals.
